On December 14, Habanero's Kelly Lautt, Business Intelligence Practise Lead, was a featured presenter at the Windows Vista, 2007 Microsoft Office system, and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Launch at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Vancouver.
Part of the Finding Information and Improving Business Insight session, Lautt showcased a business intelligence solution Habanero built for Catalyst Paper. The solution leverages SharePoint 2007 dashboarding capabilities, and was one of the first projects to leverage Excel 2007 visualization functions. It also uses a wide range of SharePoint 2007 and Excel 2007 functions. Such a steep use of these two Office products ensures Catalyst gets more value from the Office system. The new flexible, extensible, and automated solution has allowed Catalyst to improve customer service, reduce costs, and proactively resolve issues.
The launch also featured breakout sessions that detailed how businesses and government can get the most out of Windows Vista, the 2007 Microsoft Office system, and Exchange Server 2007. Attendees learned about the new features, functionality, and solutions they can build; how to help teams work across time, geography, and organizational boundaries; and how mobile workers can be more up-to-date and productive.
