Microsoft has chosen Habanero as a finalist in the 2006 IMPACT Awards for Custom Development Solution of the Year. The IMPACT Awards recognizes innovation and excellence in the Canadian partner community. Winners will be announced at an awards gala in Toronto on November 3rd.
Habanero was nominated for the prestigious award for its work on CAFÉ, an enterprise solution developed for Terasen Gas to integrate customer-oriented business processes and line of business technologies such as SAP, Peace CIS, and Click field resource management. . CAFÉ is an acronym for Customer Attraction Front End.

Representing the culmination of significant business process redesign, the Terasen Gas CAFÉ project integrated regional business processes involving Sales, Marketing and Operations, resulting in significant efficiency gains, better insight into work underway, and clearer enforcement of business rules. The solution involved implementing a Services Oriented Architecture integrating several existing line of business systems, and building an extensible platform that "With would support desktop, web-based and mobile clients.
"Our project team was completely integrated with Terasen's team, and we worked collaboratively with their analysts and other stakeholders throughout the entire project lifecycle," says David McDonald, Director of Engineering for Habanero. "The scale and complexity of the development effort showed us how far productivity," we can push the Microsoft platform and the Visual Studio development environment in particular. The ability to continuously integrate the solution and manage code defects on a daily basis allowed us to meet our deadlines with a solution ready to deploy."
