Habanero's Collaboration Practice leader, Brian Edwards, participated in the Canadian Collaboration Summit, sponsored by Microsoft Canada in Toronto.
Kevin Hunter, Senior Product Manager for Windows Server conveyed Microsoft's compelling vision of how business enterprises can improve organizational performance through the effective application of collaboration technologies. Of particular importance, according to Mike Bulmer, Product Manager for Office Systems, is the need for enterprises to adopt a systematic and strategic approach to collaboration, as opposed to applying discrete solutions in a piecemeal fashion.
A five member panel represented a broad cross section of perspectives, including academia, solution providers, and business enterprises that have recently implemented collaboration solutions. Each panel member shared their respective view on the issues and challenges surrounding collaboration in the workplace, and described successful strategies organizations have adopted to increase productivity, lower costs, and gain efficiencies through improved collaboration. Common questions and concerns were addressed during the session, including how to cost justify collaboration solutions by quantifying the return on investment, how to maximize the business impact an organization can receive from their investments in collaboration technology and how to reduce the risks associated with resistance to organizational change and non compliance.
"The invitation to participate as a member of this panel validates the unique and pragmatic approach Habanero has evolved to provide successful collaboration solutions", said Brian Edwards, "This recognition reflects the quality of the Habanero team and our ability to consistently deliver real business value to our clients."
