In April 2001, Norske Skog Canada Ltd. retained Habanero to design and implement its new corporate site on the Internet. The engagement grew organically to encompass redevelopment of the company's intranet, as well.
The new web site, which launched on August 27th has been designed to provide visitors with up-to-date information about NorskeCanada, including investor-, product- and environment-related materials.
The site also showcases NorskeCanada's new corporate identity. With the takeover of Pacifica Papers Incorporated (as well as a name change from Norske Skog Canada to NorskeCanada), NorskeCanada looked to Habanero to create a unique design that emphasizes the progressive corporate culture that distinguishes the company within the pulp and paper industry.
The newly merged company also faced a significant challenge in communicating merger-related issues to a geographically diverse workforce. Habanero worked with leaders in NorskeCanada's human resources and corporate communications departments to deploy NorWeb, a corporate intranet accessible to all.
NorskeCanada is North America's third largest newsprint and groundwood specialty papers company, serving the publishing and commercial printing industries. It is a widely-held Canadian public company with 4,400 employees.
