The five categories – employee experience, customer experience, future experiences, student, and non-profit – represent the diverse mix of skills and industries in the Vancouver area. In order to be considered for an award, entries had to be designed for Vancouver-based companies or by practitioners working in this region.
All of the shortlisted entries scored exceptionally well on the awards’ criteria of joy, elegance, simplicity, and innovation. In the case of future experiences, four entries were included as finalists because the competition was so stiff within the category. The finalists are:
Customer experience – Explore Edmonton (Tribal DDB-Vancouver and UX Guys), Freefly Systems (Invoke Media), SimpleTax Software (SimpleTax)
Employee experience – Dialog (Rethink), Jostle (Jostle Corporation), Sutton Realty Employee Intranet (Drive Digital)
Future experiences – Empower (Ayogo Health Inc.), Molson Canadian Beer Fridge (Rethink), Park Avenue Interactive Model Table (Intergalactic Agency Inc.), Netgear (Netgear)
Non-profit – imagine1day (Rethink), The Obakki Foundation (Briteweb), Ronald McDonald House Magic Room (H+ Technology)
Student – Gruppo Nove (Gruppo Nove), Optimali (Team Handwave), Parrot (Brenna Randlett)
