Habanero named to the list of 2017 Best Workplaces for Celebrating Success

Habanero has earned a spot on the list of the ten Best Workplaces for Celebrating Success.

We received this honour after a thorough and independent analysis conducted by Great Place to Work®, which surveyed employees at hundreds of organizations about appreciation, recognition, and pride.

“We respect Great Place to Work’s perspective, so this award is meaningful to us,” said Steven Fitzgerald, Habanero’s president. “It feels like a strong validation of our approach to employee experience design.”

Reflecting on recognition and celebration practices in the company, Steven added this: “One of the things we’ve thought a lot about is, what is recognition? It’s not just saying ‘thank you.’ It’s how we anticipate each others’ needs and give each other more flexibility and control over each day. And just like everything else, those things don’t happen by accident. They’re carefully designed.”

While Deloitte has noted that “‘high-recognition companies’ have 31 percent lower voluntary turnover than companies with poor recognition cultures,” Steven argues there’s a practical daily impact to knowing how to recognize each other: “When you see life through the eyes of the people you work with,” he says, “life gets more simple.”
