We’re honoured to be featured on Great Place to Work (GPTW) Canada's list of Best Workplaces for the 15th year in a row. Every year, we look forward to recognizing and celebrating organizations that share our commitment to creating better, more meaningful work experiences. This feels especially important right now, when many foundational experiences in our workplaces are being challenged, and we’re navigating near daily shifts in all aspects of our world.
In the face of these pressures, it’s a critical time for organizations to reconnect to their “why.” Gallup’s February 2025 data says that only 30% of US employees strongly agree that they connect with their organization’s purpose – down 8% since the pandemic, representing a 26% decline and the lowest since 2008.
“Deepening employees’ connection to organizational purpose – and how their role supports it – can be a key navigation tool amongst unpredictability,” says Habanero Culture and Transformation Practice Lead Mallory O’Connor. “It can serve as an orienting touchstone that reduces uncertainty and helps us remember why we are here doing this work together – and why it matters.”
Now is the time for organizations to lead intentionally, to refresh, foster or strengthen employees’ connection to purpose and activate ways to champion, reinforce, model and infuse purpose at every level.
GPTW’s Trust Index employee survey is a research-backed employee engagement survey, that identifies organizations with amazing cultures. It’s one of many methods we use to understand how Habs are feeling and to foster positive change within our organization.
