Iris wins award at 2014 SharePoint Conference

Iris, Habanero's member portal solution for the Calgary Board of Education, won the ITPro Winner's Circle Award at the 2014 SharePoint Summit in Las Vegas on March 3.

Iris beat six other entries to claim top spot. The award was announced during the ITPro keynote address.

"This is great exposure for Habanero," said Will Hardy, a Habanero employee at the SharePoint Conference. "A number of people are saying they heard about us because of this award."

Iris was built on SharePoint 2010. Following the school district's focus on personalized learning, Iris encourages student goal-setting and teacher collaboration. The solution provides students with a way to track educational progress as well as gives teachers the opportunity to make sure course material aligns with students' strengths and interests.

Iris won a gold-level 2013 Intranet Innovation Award and Toronto SharePoint Summit Award last year. The solution was also shortlisted for 2013 Interaction Awards and Digital Alberta awards.
